The event was held over two days at the future site of Bradfield City, located near Western Sydney’s growing Aerotropolis.

Introducing Students to the Future of Robotics in Australia
Neuranext’s goal for the event was to immerse students in the very latest in robotics and AI. By presenting both a mature quadruped platform and an emerging humanoid system, we highlighted how autonomous robots may support mobility, logistics, safety and accessibility in Australia’s future.

Humanoid Robotics in Action: The Unitree G1
The Unitree G1 Humanoid was a major highlight. Students gathered to watch the robot perform a range of mobility and manipulation tasks including:
- Controlled walking and jogging
- Lifting and carrying light goods
- Demonstrating balance, coordination and responsive movement
These demonstrations prompted conversations around how humanoid robots could one day support warehouse logistics, last-mile delivery, healthcare mobility assistance, and even public transport environments. Many students were surprised at how far robotic mobility has progressed, especially in systems designed for real-world environments.
The Unitree Go2 Pro: AI Vision, Stability and Real-World Capability
The Unitree Go2 Pro also impressed the audience with its combination of stability, perception and AI-enhanced functionality. During demonstrations, the robot dog showcased:
- Exceptional balance: remaining upright even when pushed with force
- Real-time vision display: students viewed exactly what the robot’s cameras were detecting
- GPT-Vision interpretation: the robot described objects in its environment and explained what was happening in the scene
This capability led to an engaging comparison with the role of a traditional guide dog. Students explored how future robot dogs may support those with vision impairment or mobility challenges – not by replacing guide dogs, but by offering new forms of assistance, such as situational descriptions, hazard detection and advanced navigation support.
Exploring Autonomous Vehicles and Future Mobility
In addition to the Unitree robots, students learned about the latest autonomous vehicle technologies being developed and deployed across the United States and China. These systems sparked discussion about:
- How self-driving vehicles will impact Australian roads
- What adoption may look like across Sydney Science Park
- How AI-driven mobility may change public transport, freight and urban planning
Despite the grey, rainy weather, the atmosphere inside the marquees was energetic and packed with students eager to learn, experiment and ask questions.
